Facing death is something we all will have to do, but knowing there is everlasting life that is what I choose. In 1980 I had a brush with death. I was on a small plane that was having serious engine problems. God spoke to me that day and said reach out and take my hand or you will be lost forever. I am your Father I will never leave you or forsake you. That was the day I gave my life to Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior.
The next brush I had with death was about two years ago. I was in the hospital in serious condition. I heard the doctors say to my wife if he makes it through the night there is a good chance he will live. I called to Jesus to help me. I've often wondered what I'd do facing death, now I know I would put my rest in the Lord, my faith in His word, His promise he would never leave me or forsake me.
Believers know that the joys of heaven are on the other side of deaths door, but we still cling to this life. What person has not, upon receiving the news of impending death, wept bitterly to God? Many have stories of God's mercy and healing but even those who have died could tell us stories of healing-ultimate healing upon seeing the face of their Lord!
The greatest fear is the unknown. We know about heaven, but we don't understand it. We prepare for death by faith, knowing we must go through the door alone. But believe have the truth that God who knows and loves them is on the other side, waiting with open arms. For believers, death is not the end,it is the beginning of eternal life with God.
God promised to heal Hezekiah. He could have intervened miraculously; He could have sent Isaiah to touch and heal him. Instead, God sent Isaiah with a prescription. 2 Kings 20: 7 then Isaiah said, take a lump of figs. So they took and laid it on the boil and he recovered. When we are ill, we should seek healing. God may intervene miraculously, or He may send doctors and medicine. In either case, He is ultimately in control to heal His people or to bring them home to Him.
My brothers and sisters, please reach out to help people.Tell them about how great our God is. Visit the hospitals, nursing homes, reach out to people as God has called us to do. Put your rest in the Lord Jesus Christ our Savior and you shall never know death. You're never without hope, Jesus loves you. Rev. Rick Kimball. Men on Fire
